5 years, 50,000 streams and countless shows later, Jodie Mellor and Charlie T Smith have made it official with new duo Feels Like July. With previous successful releases from both singer songwriters, their alternating roots of England and France crossed paths in Bristol where they exchanged effortless writing, familiar melodies and vocals so warm that they melt into one.
Windows Down is the pairs debut single. Combining their individual expertise, this release makes for a match made in heaven, with the romantic feel of an early 2000's film - this guy gets the girl.
As a self-proclaimed professional bedroom singer, Jodie started her career on Youtube, amassing over 7 million views and gaining support from MTV, Glamour, and Hotel Chocolat stores worldwide. Self-releasing music since 2017, she went on to gain a first class degree in Songwriting at BIMM Bristol, and has personally dazzled the likes of pop sensations Dua Lipa, Halsey, Little Mix and Anne Marie with her stripped back covers.
Bristol based but born and raised in South West France, Charlie T Smith combines warm vocals, catchy melodies, vocal splicing and his knowledge of classical music to push him far beyond the conventional pop act.
Hailing from a family of professional musicians, Charlie found himself playing at his father’s gigs from the impressive age of three. At seventeen, after training as a classical flautist, he performed in the Duet Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall. Studying songwriting at BIMM Bristol led to Charlie turning to writing and producing for TV, Film and other commercial artists. For more, see our STUDIO page.
